Mindfulness Festival is a completely volunteer organized benefit event held annually at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. It is free and open to all ages.
Mindfulness Festival is a platform for empowerment. We provide the environment for individuals to realize their true potential and work towards being the change they want to see in the world. In 2017, we are excited to host our gathering on Earth Day. We will emphasize a focus on exploring the human-earth relationship in a variety of ways. Throughout the day, guests can take part in educational workshops promoting environmental consciousness, purchase sustainably-sourced food from our vendors, and enjoy music and yoga from local artists.
The intention is to create an experiential learning environment where we step back from the stresses of everyday life and explore new, healthier ways of relating to ourselves, others, and the environment, through the use of mindfulness practices. We unite members of the Asheville community in order to build stronger relationships and develop mechanisms that will allow us to enact positive change in our communities.
Talking about mindfulness is great, but the only way to truly understand it is to experience it for yourself. We offer this experience to you as an opportunity to engage in various forms of mindfulness practice with a supportive community of friends. We envision a world which is supportive of all forms of life, and Mindfulness Festival is an example of this vision. Come create this with us.
